Fall Decor Trends 2022
My Take On Fall Decor Trends 2022 Is Offering
Fall is by far, my favourite season for a lot of reasons. One is knowing it’s the time of year to have an eye on the Fall decor trends that help us add some fresh decor updates to our spaces. I love that we never have to swap out all our furniture and home decor to feel we’re in style.
Have a look at these trends that I’ve spotted recently, and hopefully get inspired to add a few of them to your next decor and design refresh.
Romantic Decor Style
We’re creating interiors that have a moody, somewhat dramatic look and feel, leaning to the romantic aesthetic. Romantic decor ideas include the use of plush textiles, like velvet and rich saturated colours.
There are some wonderful wall murals to bring this design element to a bedroom or dining space. Here’s a great example by York Wallcoverings.
Misty Mountain in the soft taupe tone sets a beautiful backdrop for romantic bedroom decor ideas. The dark velvet bed pillows and deep green plants repeat tones in we see in the mural, while the neutral tones of the bedding keep the room balanced and inviting.
Coastal Grandmother Decor
I had no idea what this was when I first heard this terminology. I think it’s one I could easily embrace now that I understand the elements of this trending decor style. It’s similar to the Coastal Decor style we’ve been embracing for a while now. This one has the Grandmother influence incorporated and is listed in many articles I researched about fall decor trends 2022 will embrace.
Coastal brings to mind images of a lovely beach house. This take on the costal decorating style doesn’t include anything too nautical like anchors and sea shells. It’s really a rather elegant look created by neutral white and ivory colours paired with nautical blues, jute rugs, grandmother inspired oversized vases and ginger jars, baskets and rattan pieces, linen window treatments that flow in the breeze, and knit textures that remind us of time spent outdoors.
I like that it’s not an exact formula. It’s all about creating a welcoming feeling to a lived-in home that incorporates the coastal decor ideas we’ve been seeing but in a more polished, classic look.
This look is both rich and timeless, reusing antique, vintage and heirloom pieces in the overall design plan.
Natural Stone Decor Ideas
Nature elements continue to be important to our design and decor choices. They not only look beautiful, they add to our sense of wellbeing. I love helping you make home your own private sanctuary. As an Aging In Place Certified Interior Decorator, creating spaces that include elements, like natural stone, that measurably improve our health and sense of wellbeing is gold.
Marble has been with us forever, or so it seems. We’re seeing design enthusiasts who lead the way in our industry embracing marble and natural stone this season. Get the look and feel of fall decor trends 2022 is offering by adding stone elements to your space. It can be as easy as a set of natural stone coasters like this set that I found on Etsy. These are handmade from rock that came from the Canadian Shield. We can’t get more natural than that!
Watch for marble table tops, and I’m not talking just side tables. We’re seeing them on dining tables too. That works great in a more formal space and can easily be toned down for everyday living paired with mismatched dining chairs you’re likely to see in a coastal inspired decor theme.
Fall Paint Colours 2022
A quick look at my best picks of paint colours the fall decor trends 2022 is showing us right now.
Greens are still happening. Time to go deep and bold and not bright and light.
Warm Beiges that give a cozy hug. Not the old yellow beige you grew up with. Find the perfect neutral for a backdrop to all the rich pops of colours that are happening now.
Rich Taupes that are earthy, neutral and bold. Make a statement in your living room or bedroom.
Ochre is the darker hue and slightly moody, earthy version of yellow. It’s so elegant.
Clay Tones that are desert inspired are hot trends that are not going away anytime soon. They too bring warmth and depth to any decor.
Pinks, though feminine, are truly gender neutral. They’re coming strong in all shades. Look for the warm toned classics you can enjoy for years to come.
I hope I’ve inspired you to try some of these fall decor 2022 trends in your homes and upcoming decor and design refresh projects. I’m loving the bold colours and stepping away from all the grey that’s been in my home decor for too long. Stay tuned for some colour changes happening at my house that I hope to share over the next few months.
