Hi, I’m Jill - nice to meet you!
I love interior decor and design. Not too much else gets me more excited!
I extend a warm welcome to you as you consider how my services will benefit you and your home. It’s bound to feel a little intimidating to think that a professional decorator is coming to tour through your home with the express purpose of assessing your current decor. While I bring a trained eye, let me assure you that I’m not coming to criticize or judge.

It’s an honour to say I’m an award winning decorator, recognized for excellence in both decorating and business client service. Add a Reader’s Choice Diamond award to the mix, and I realize just how much my community likes me. I couldn’t do it without my amazing clients!
Growing up in a small town in Southern Ontario, it wasn’t unusual for me to be changing the furniture and reorganizing things in my bedroom on a regular basis as a young girl. My mom taught me how to sew, and I still love a trip to my local fabric store where I take in all the colours, textures, patterns, and touching everything at hand.
In the early years of our marriage, my husband Jim would often wonder if he had come home to the wrong apartment for that very reason. It wasn’t long before friends and family were asking for decorating advice, and the rest, as they say, is history. Well, there was a lot of life in between, but you catch my drift.
Earning my credentials as a Certified Interior Decorator and Re-Design Professional, and honing my skills in Home Staging, I count it a true privilege to work at what I absolutely love to do. I believe everyone should have the option to live in style, because you love your space - we all do.
I will give you my best advice and recommendations - always. It’s totally up to you whether they are implemented or not. My decisions are based on design principles like balance, scale, traffic flow and function, to name a few. And, of course, on colour, your personal style, and the desired feel of the space you’re wanting to achieve.
I want to you feel assured that I bring a relaxed, fun approach to my work, while still being professional and well trained. I will take in to consideration your wishes and desires that we will work into a personalized plan whenever possible.
I’m also a big believer in sticking to a budget. I review that during our first consultation. We get everything out on the table so you know what to expect and how my process works.
I have a particular strength and love of Re-Design. It’s so much fun to do a walk-through of a home to find a little table here or a chair there to relocate to a new space. Taking items you already have and giving them a new home and function often produces a rewarding outcome as it all comes together.
My studies and recognition as a Certified Re-Designer overlap some areas of Interior Design. The more I do the more I learn and apply to each individual job. I continue to work hard at keeping informed with current trends and innovations in my industry. As a Certified Member of Decorators & Designers Association of Canada - DDA, I’m required to complete five Continuing Education Units - CEU’s, each year to retain my membership.
I’m having the time of my life following my passion and working hard to bring you a fun-filled, affordable, intimidation-free experience that produces a truly beautifully decorated end result. If I can make that happen for you, then I’m proud of a job well done.
As the owner of Jill Carty Designs, I place a high value on respecting my clients by serving them with my experience, expertise and integrity. I work hard to produce beautiful end results every time, while staying on budget and on time.
My goal is to take away your overwhelm, make the decorating/design process enjoyable and fun, while checking that your wish-list is being mindful of both function and beauty.
You will be in good hands throughout the project, from start to beautiful finish!
