Pretty Little Bathroom Reno

This 1940's home boasts an upper bathroom with the tiniest footprint. It's the main functioning bathroom in the household and can be a busy spot for my clients with their two active little boys and the many house guests they love to host. The goal was a rustic contemporary space on a tight budget.

Before-a non-functioning glass block window and the overall drab brown tiles on both the walls and floor.

AFTER - a bright white/black updated space with it's new privacy pane window, wall mounted vanity, toilet and a pretty rustic shelf. always beautiful classic subway tiles surround the tub and who doesn't love a rain shower head.

before - The original entry site line of the pedestal sink that offered no storage and minimal decking. we were all skeptical about the strange step on the floor that extended the length of the bathtub. it made for a really awkward reach at bath time with the boys. it turned out to be an easy demo that wasn't hiding any surprises as we had feared.

After - A space saving sliding barn door adds some "wow factor" and interest and more rustic charm. The black hinges and hardware introduce the black fixtures and hooks inside. It slides effortlessly, a feature any mom would love, while welcoming you into this pretty little bath with it's white and black hexagon tiles that suit the age and style of this older home.

before - a busy space that gets decluttered and streamlined

after - relocating the open floor wall mounted vanity gives lots of storage and it tucks in nicely, with room for the eco-toilet. overhead my clients designed this rustic shelf that provides display and more storage, as does the medicine cabinet over the sink. black matte fixtures throughout add to the contemporary rustic feel.
