Bedroom Redo

This upper level bedroom was on the list of several spaces that got a fresh paint palette in keeping with the new blue/grey tones introduced in the rest of the house. The strong navy here brought a nice depth to this bedroom.

The jumping off point for this project was finding the large stretched canvas with beautiful dark and soft blues, whites and greys. I pulled the wall colours right from the artwork creating a focal wall in Sherwin Williams Naval for the bed to rest on, that was repeated in the toss pillow and the cozy throw at the bottom of the bed. The balance of the walls were painted in Sherwin Williams Snowbound white.

Artwork can often be a key player in a space helping to pull everything together. Some of the blue tones in the picture pulled on the existing carpet that was staying in the space.

The pretty grey and white comforter set that my client purchased worked really well with the new window treatment in a solid medium grey.

A new layout brought balance, and we “edited” - my clients now know it’s my word for removing and/or purging a space - some of the furniture and found storage for smaller items. This brought a sense of order and calm, important elements for a restful bedroom.

Both dressers were repositioned and a few other items found a new home. The solid grey black-out curtains are full length, providing a restful environment for occasional daytime sleeping that’s important to this client. Pretty new lamps were added on the night tables on each side of the bed. Sorry I didn’t capture them in this particular photo session/. Lamps are an important bedroom accessory.
