A Heart Desire Came To Pass - TVLA
/One of my favourite Aunts impressed me as a young girl when I learned that she was helping an adult learn to read. In my innocence, I was fascinated with this new-to-me concept that not everyone beyond grade one could not read. It marked my heart that day and became a part of my love to help others succeed through education. I made a little promise to myself that someday I’d be just like Aunt Joan and help an adult to learn how to read.
While I haven’t accomplished that - yet - I was delighted to come alongside Trent Valley Literacy Association (TVLA) to help them spruce up their office space and adult learning centre. It was a collaboration of efforts and ideas shared with me steering and suggesting along the way. For the most part the plan was followed. The before and after videos show the transformation.
Let’s have a look inside on the day I first arrived. Be sure to expand the video to full screen once you open it. I’m sorry it’s such a small width.
Here is the video I shot many months after the original decor consult and subsequent visits, when all the work was finally completed. Have a look.
Lesley, her family and some staff pitched in to do all the painting and some of the structural changes that took place.
Again, entrance before and after.
