Canadian Furniture Show 2019
/I ventured out on a “just me” day a few weeks ago Friday, and did the two hour drive to the Toronto International Centre for this Trades Only annual event, the Canadian Furniture Show. It’s been several years since I’ve attended and I thought it was time to go again.
To be perfectly honest, I was a little underwhelmed with this years show. The floor had room for at least a third more vendors and there seemed to be a lot of repeat furnishings. Despite all of that, I did find some pretty things.
I also met another Designer who lives and works out of Caledonia. We shared a table at lunch and had a great chat about our work, the industry, what we loved and things that challenge us. Like me, she has a client base in a more rural area, so we understood each other very well. I’ve made a promise to look her up and meet for a cup of tea the next time I’m visiting family in Hamilton. Yay!
I did put together some of my favourites as you’ll see in the video below.
Enjoy and be forgiving on my video techniques. It will get better the more I do it - so they tell me!
And just for fun, I grabbed a few pics at IKEA that was an afterthought stop on my way home. I rushed through the store with one goal in mind - to grab the shelving units I’ll need in my new studio space. I was trying sooooo hard not to linger and get ahead of Friday traffic on my drive home. I’ve put them together just for fun. I always wish I had more time there.
