Betty's Home Staging Before And After
/Apply Home Staging Rules
This home staging job was a delight for me. Our return client was great to work with again. Jim and I have done some work for her in the past on two other occasions, so we all knew what to expect. Everyone stayed on task and we helped each other problem solve as things came up along the way.
My suggestions were met with enthusiastic agreement and we were pretty much on the same page with the decisions made. If you follow me regularly, you already know there is an entirely different system to home staging than home decorating and design.
Paint Colors That Sell Your Home
I always recommend the best colors for staging a home because certain colors in specific rooms do sell better. Think muted blue-greens for that spa feel in the bathroom, soft neutrals for the main wall colors to keep things feeling spacious and fresh.
You’ll see in the video how we’ve applied these rules to the palette we put together, keeping in mind the existing window coverings, furnishings and accessories wherever possible.
Purging Stuff Before Moving
Decluttering and moving out larger furniture pieces is another key consideration. Deciding on what items to get rid of before a move can be tricky, especially if you don’t know exactly where you’re going to. Having said that, these decisions will have to be made at some point in the process, so why not make them now.
Home Staging Before And After Videos
I put together this quick first video of the before photos I took at the initial consult on day one. I regret not capturing more of the entry at that time because we really did make an impact that you’ll see in the after video.
Using design principles of proper furniture placement, the living room took on a whole new look. We created some pretty art arrangements on each side of the fireplace from favourite photos my client already had. You’ll see them in the after video as well.
This video below, at the end of our work shows the dramatic difference staging makes to a space. At this point in the video, our client still had some bigger furniture pieces to put in storage. She’ll make that happen closer to the listing date. Regardless, you will definitely see the potential of the rooms.
The kitchen cabinets could have gone a shade or two darker for more contrast, but we were soooo excited to see them cleaned up, repaired and painted. An investment that will pay off very well in the long run. It really is a truth that kitchens and bathrooms sell a home.
All of the painting here was done by Jim. He really does a fine job.
Have a look and enjoy.
