Happy New Year Everyone!

Here in Ontario we are well into our mandatory 28 day COVID lockdown. The reality of it seems to be setting in now that I’m back in the office. Looking over notes and doing a few follow-ups on pending projects that have once again come to a halt can be frustrating if I let it be. There is a lot of wisdom in a mindset that goes with the flow as we all adjust and re-adjust to getting used to our new normal.

E-Design Interior Design And New Offering

I’m using this time to work on year-end bookkeeping, writing some upcoming home decor blog posts (that I can’t wait to share with you), and setting some business goals for the year ahead. I have an exciting new offering coming very soon. It’s all about answering your toughest design questions. Stay tuned for details!

On the design side of things, I’ve been doing more e-design than ever before. It’s a great way to consult with you virtually for home decor or staging helps. We can still create furniture layouts, furnishing and accessory recommendations, help you hang artwork, or pick the best paint colours to freshen things up. It’s a fun way to interact safely.

Colours Of The Year 2021

Sherwin Williams

Sherwin Williams colour pick for 2021 and their colour of the month for January is Urbane Bronze (SW7048). This deep, rich, moody brown brings all the drama. If you choose brass as your accent metal, it pulls some of the beautiful warmth out of this gorgeous colour.

Sherwin also recommends Tricorn Black, Porpoise, Extra White, and Felted Wool as the perfect coordinating colours.

Benjamin Moore

Aegean Teal (2136-40) is their 2021 colour of the year. It’s a beautifully balanced blue-green in the mid-tone range that could live almost anywhere in your home. Think living room walls or accessories, rich velvet pillows or toss blankets. In the kitchen, use it on cupboards with gold pulls or as a pop of colour in a kettle on the stove top.

Benjamin Moore also recommends Tulsa Twilight, Winterwood, Sweet Spring or Salisbury Green for coordinating colours for this beauty.
