Expressing a clients particular decor style, favourite colours in the palette, bringing function and organization, laying out furniture placement surrounded by favourite and meaningful accessories are all thoughtful parts of the decorating plan.
What Is The Importance of Home Decor?
Planning a space that brings a sense of calm and refuge from the day to day challenges the world throws at us is a great honour for me. Knowing that I’m influencing my clients good health and sense of well being and making a house a home is the best part of my job.
The After Videos - Part 1 and Part 2
This first video reveals the finished dining area and kitchen. We repurposed the kitchen table and chairs and brought in a sideboard that we painted to match. The kitchen countertops received a faux paint treatment, the cabinets were purged and reorganized, and accessories throughout added the final touches.
Take note of the Daisy artwork that Marilyn lovingly created for Kerri. It’s the perfect home for it above the kitchen table and really creates a focal point in the room.

Part II is the reveal of the living room and entry showing the new furnishings and layout, the newly painted walls and trim, lighting, and all the accessories we added.

A Team Effort That Paid Off
This gift of decor to Marilyn’s daughter and their household was life changing for all of us. We’d show up on site, I’d organize tasks for their twin daughters Jayden and McKayla, her husband Mike, Marilyn and myself.
Away we went, working for hours to transform the space. It was a pleasure to get to know the family as the days passed. We had so many laughs together and kept each other encouraged when we were tired.
Mike endured a worksite of four female supervisors tasking him endlessly both on site and by email and text. Her twin daughters jumped in wherever they could, eagerly asking to be shown how to do things.
Marilyn worked tirelessly beside me as we repurposed furniture. She learned how to use Fusion mineral paint on the kitchen furniture, she did the table and chairs and I did the sideboard. Marilyn found the best process for the two of us to paint the countertops with a faux marble finish, and created a beautiful hand painted Daisy canvas, Kerri’s favourite flower, as special gift for her girl.
She and I shopped and sourced and shopped and sourced again and again, finding all the special touches and furnishings we needed.

We started sourcing in late May, completing everything on September 3rd, just before Kerri arrived home from her study week away in British Columbia.
The Surprise Revealed
We couldn’t be on site to see Kerri’s reaction when she arrived home from British Columbia late at night. The girls and Mike were eagerly waiting her return. We are so grateful to Mike for capturing Kerri’s reaction to her new home. That’s exactly what happened - their house became a home. Job well done and so glad to see Kerri feeling better about life.
